Fourier Series-based Kernel for Frequency Control Performance Monitoring of Hydroelectric Generating Units

An identification algorithm is proposed to estimate varying parameters and some unknown input in a MISO continuous-time system, for the purpose of monitoring frequency control performance in hydroelectric generating units. In the proposed algorithm, an integral transform with a Fourier series-based kernel is developed from irregularly sampled data and its efficiency is shown by comparison with real hydropower plant parameters and with a S avitzky-Golay filter.
