Hybrid Interval-Ellipsoidal Set-Membership State Estimators for Uncertain Discrete-Time Linear Systems

Résumé

Aiming to enhance the performance of state estimation algorithms in the bounded error context, we propose in this work two kinds of combination of two types of set-membership estimators. The first estimator use interval analysis to over-approximate efficiently the estimation error, whereas the second estimator is based on set invariance principle coupled with ellipsoidal computation. Two hybrid (interval-ellipsoidal) structures are introduced in this paper. The first one has the advantage to need less online computation; while the second one due to its data fusion policy provides accurate state enclosures over all the working period. Illustrative numerical examples are presented to show the performance of the proposed approaches and to support the theoretical results.
