Challenging Questions for the Rationale of Non-Classical Programming Languages

Résumé

In this position paper, we question the rationale behind the design of unconventional programming languages. Our questions are classified in four categories: the sources of inspiration for new computational models, the process of developing a program, the forms and the theories needed to write and understand nonclassical programs and finally the new computing media and the new applications that drive the development of new programming languages.
