Benchmarking of Network Virtualization Functions

This project is step towards the determination of which platform performs the best when it comes to virtualizing the firewall network function. In the current status of the project, performance of firewall on Docker and Rump kernel have been benchmarked to measure the throughput and latency metrics. These have then been plotted for easy comparison. As a future work more platforms and more network functions could be included for analysis.
This report is a short description of the work done in the project. Section 2 is a short description of some of the background information the platforms and used and explored during the course of the project. Section 3 provides a detailed explanation of the benchmarking methodology used - the tools and parameters used and the metrics benchmarked.
