Recent advances in modelling of cement-based materials and structures at early age

Résumé

This paper presents two initiatives of summarising the knowledge on early-age behaviour of concrete structures: RILEM TC 254-CMS State-of-the-art report on thermal cracking of massive concrete structures and numerical benchmark program conducted by Work Group 2 of COST Action TU1404. The paper discusses the strengths and weaknesses of the currently used modelling approaches, identifies challenges and proposes measures to unify the strategies to modelling hardening concrete and concrete structures at early age.
