Sliding mode control of linear time delay systems: a design via LMIs

Résumé

Two types of sliding mode controllers for uncertain time delay system are designed. The conditions for the existence of the sliding regime are studied via Lyapunov–Krasovskii functionals. The upper bound of the delay is then shown to be the solution of a convex minimization problem expressed in terms of LMIs. A third‐order example illustrates the design methods.
