Crushing of aeronautical composite absorbers using canonical and phenomenological ruin criteria
Résumé
Summary: A material model has been develop that uses continuous damage for the stable crushing process far from the ground, and local crushing models for 0° or 90° plies that are in contact with the ground. The continuous damage model generates fractures and small debris using a canonical ensemble of ruin modes. Local mean crushing stresses and free face crushing concepts are introduced to take into account for the local crushing phenomena on the delamination initiation. The paper presents the material model and shows the advantage of taking into account for local crushing phenomena in the simulation of the global crushing. Comparisons of simulations and tests are presented that show good agreements.
