Sur le solveur en corrélation d'images éléments finis

Abstract : The amount of digital imaging data obtained for each mechanical test is increasing dramatically. Developing numerically efficient analysis algorithms is definitely a burning issue. The effective algorithms in Digital Image Correlation (DIC) are those based on a constant operator. According to the finite element-based DIC (FE-DIC) method, the idea is to approximate the gradient of the deformed state image with that of the reference image to obtain this property. In some cases, this approximation is incorrect and leads to the divergence of the algorithm even if it is initialized very close to the solution. Here, a mathematical analysis of this algorithm is presented in order to try to draw the contours of its true domain of validity. Then, a numerically efficient and unconditionally convergent alternative is proposed, inspired by the inverse composition Gauss-Newton algorithm (ICGN).
