Effect of ITZ leaching on durability of cement-based materials

The results obtained on both cement paste samples with and without silica fumes and mortars with and without silica fumes, show that there is an Interfacial Transition Zone (ITZ) effect on the alteration of the mechanical properties due to leaching.
