Etude expérimentale et numérique de l’influence d’un chargement de traction sur la réponse à l’impact de stratifiés tissés de faible épaisseur

Abstract : This article deals with the influence of a tensile preload on the impact behavior of thin composite laminates. Impacts on composite structures is one of the most damaging loadings that can lead to matrix cracking, fiber breakages and delamination. In this study, woven composite laminates made with two plies of carbon/epoxy fabrics and one ply of glass/epoxy fabric are impacted with a low velocity while loaded in tension. The effect of the preload on the impact damage size and shape, and the peak load is experimentally quantified and discussed.Then, these preloaded impact tests are modeled using the Semi-Continuous strategy
