Caractérisation de la résistance en cisaillement interfaciale des composites thermoplastiques PA66/fibres de carbone recyclées

Abstract : One of the most important parameter affecting the mechanical properties of composite materials is the adhesion of components which can be characterized by the interfacial shear strength (IFSS). Most of the experimental methods for the evaluation of IFSS are applied to single fiber composites. But, there are two indirect methods based on the Aykol and Isitman models as well as the Bowyer and Bader modified model for the IFSS evaluation from an analysis of the stress-strain tensile response of short fiber reinforced composites. In the present study, these models were applied to the experimental results of a thermoplastic composite (PA66 / recycled carbon fiber) to evaluate the IFSS and the fiber orientation factor of the composite. The values of IFSS and the fiber orientation factor range respectively between 48 to 52 MPa and 0,43 to 0,44.
