Best practices in system-level virtual prototyping - application to mechanical transmission in electromechanical actuators

Jean-Charles Maré

Résumé

This communication aims to propose concepts for efficient development, capitalization and sharing of system-level, lumped-effects models and for their implementation in time-domain simulation environments. The main intention is to facilitate incremental modelling and to drive it by engineering needs. Best-practices are suggested for models’ structure and parameterization, regarding modelling steps, model topology, model continuity, fully balanced models and admittance to any possible causal case. The key ideas are illustrated with the example of nut-screws, as key parts of electromechanical actuators that are being developed for more electrical aircrafts.
